Impact Testing Machine

JB Series pendulum Charpy impact testing machine is designed and manufactured according to the associated standards. A lifted mass with its potential energy is converted to kinetic energy when it being subjected to a free fall. Installing the mass to a fixed pivot (pendulum) deflects the velocity vector. Impact loading of a material being tested is realized at the point of maximum kinetic energy of the mass. This pendulum impact tester is widely used to evaluate the toughness and brittleness of metal materials under impact load. It adopts a programmable controller (PLC) with or without a computer and its application software for test process control and test data acquisition, and further for the test data analyzing, store and print. The machine is equipped with an aluminum alloy protective cover to ensure the safety of the operator. The associated standards are as follows.

The function and characteristics of the tester

  1. The main frame

The main frame of the equipment is processed from casted iron with the characteristics of light weight, high rigidity and stability. It has a simple supported beam. The uniformly stressed supporting shaft and thick pendulum arm reduced the deformation at the moment of impact. The impact specimen anvil is integrated with the base, and its size is complies with the ASTM E23 standard. The specially designed anvil minimizes the friction between the specimen and the anvil and ensures the accuracy of the test results.

  1. The pendulum lifting system

The pendulum lifting system is composed of motor, reducer, clutch, etc. The reducer uses a worm gear structure, runs smoothly, and has a large output torque. The clutch is a friction clutch with fast and reliable action, and low noise.

  1. Pendulum release and locking device

The pendulum release and locking device includes a release cylinder, a pendulum pull plate, a reset spring, a lock baffle, and a stop pin. In the working process, the pendulum clamping plate is extended under the action of the reset spring in order to catch the pendulum at released position. When the pendulum needs to be released, the air intake of the cylinder is released to drive the pendulum clamping plate back, and the pendulum is released. When the pendulum needs to be lifted back to the release position, the locking baffle is set to the lock position, and the pendulum can be locked without releasing even occasionally met with electrical or software failure to improve equipment operation safety.

Broaching Machine

This series of broaching machine is specially used for the precise processing of V-shaped and U-shaped notch of impact specimen. It is a special device needed for metal material specimen preparation of impact test.
The broaching machine is easy to operate, working fast and efficient. The notch is one-time molding and fully meets the requirement of GB / T229-2007, ISO148, ASTME23-02a, and other standards. With double-knife and double-station, this machine can successfully cut two standard test notches on two specimens.
The V or U shape of broach can be supplied according to customer’s requirement. It is precision-machined with special materials and special processes. With high hardness and good wear resistance, it has a long service life.

CST-50 Impact Specimen Notch Projector

The projector is a special optical instrument designed for quality checking of the impact specimen V-shaped or U-shaped notch. The machined notch on the specimen is enlarged 50 times and projected on the observation screen. The inspector can compare this notch with the standard drawing board engraved on the observation screen, and quickly determine whether the specimen is qualified.
